About The Maloney Nerve Institute
Christopher T. Maloney, Jr., M.D. was trained in Peripheral Nerve Surgery by A. Lee Dellon, MD where they were partners and co-founders of the Institute for Plastic Surgery and Peripheral Nerve Surgery. Together, Drs. Maloney and Dellon have trained numerous surgeons in the techniques that are available to help patients with pain.
Drs. Maloney and Dellon have co-authored numerous peer reviewed articles on the subject of peripheral nerve surgery and both hold clinical faculty appointments at the University of Arizona in the Departments of Surgery and Neurosurgery.
Drs. Dellon and Maloney have lectured throughout the world teaching doctors about new techniques and solutions to patients with pain.
Dr. Maloney is a Harvard trained plastic surgeon, a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, and a Member of the American Society for Plastic Surgery, a select group of board certified plastic surgeons who have attained the highest level of achievement in cosmetic surgical training, continuing education and clinical experience. He is also a candidate member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and has been trained by world class surgeons in the areas of plastic surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
Dr. Maloney completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Harvard Plastic Surgery Training Program in 1998. During this time he was Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital – Boston, Beth Israel, Deaconess, and Shriner's Burn Hospital. He received his Masters in Business Administration from the Owen Graduation School of Management and completed a Burn Fellowship in the Department of Plastic Surgery following his training in General Surgery at Vanderbilt. He attended Medical School at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons after graduating with honors from the University of San Diego. Dr. Maloney has additional training in Microsurgery, Peripheral Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery and Peripheral Nerve Surgery.
Dr. Maloney is a Tucson native, graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1986. He and his family currently reside in Tucson. His hobbies include golf and riding horses on the Elkhorn and Los Charros Del Desierto rides. He is local member of the American Diabetes Association, an active member of the Centurions, a non-profit organization which raises money for local charitable causes, and a member of the Conquistadores. He recently returned from Ecuador where he and a team of surgeons performed reconstructive and peripheral nerve procedures on patients with Leprosy.

Dr. Maloney is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Tucson Medical Center and a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery and Neurosurgery at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Maloney is a board member of the local Tucson Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and Camp Lowell Surgical Center.
Dr. Maloney is an active member of the Tucson Conquistadors, The Centurions, Los Charros del Desierto and Friends of Western Art.
Dr. Maloney has been voted "Best Doctors" for 4 years in a row by Best Doctors in American and Tucson Lifestyle magazine.
